    Under the bridge

A colleague and I were on a road trip across Honshu, Japan, and one of the stops were in Kanazawa on the west coast. This photo is from Kenrokuen Garden, a very beautiful and peaceful place. I can really recommend a visit!

    Kenroku-en

A colleague and I were on a road trip in Japan. One of the stops was in Kanazawa where we visited Kenroku-en. Needless to say we took quite a few photos there. This is a classic view from that wonderful garden.

  • Cloudy at the top

    Cloudy at the top

It might be quite hard to tell, but this is actually the famous Mount Fuji. It was still a bit too early in the season, so we couldn't climb all the way to the top. There was way too much snow. And due to the clouds up there, we could only see about 10-15 meters ahead. From this angle I think the clouds look kinda cool though.

  • Sunset in Franconia

    Sunset in Franconia

This is the Franconian countryside more than a decade ago. I was visiting an old friend there and we went out for a walk enjoying the scenery. This was before I bought my first DSLR, but I'm quite satisfied with my capture of the evening sun anyway.

  • Sunset on Cape Cod

    Sunset on Cape Cod

A few years ago I visited a couple of friends in Boston. During our visit, we did a day trip to Cape Cod. Man, that was a nice day! Nice weather, nice friends and good food. The day ended with a nice colorful sunset. I think it's kinda cool to see the sun go down into the ocean when you're on the east coast.

  • Morning by the river

    Morning by the river

Sometimes I set my alarm clock even on the weekend. Just to get up early and get some photos of the morning sky. This picture however, I think was captured before work. An early morning by the river.

  • The Fallen

    The Fallen

Nature is beautiful with all its colors. For this photo, however, I chose a sepia tone. I find that doing so, sometimes makes it easier to see the contrasts and shapes better.

  • Aging dandelion

    Aging dandelion

White and round like a snowball, but fragile in the wind and soft to the touch. Crouching, I took this photo on the meadow next to our garden a hot summer day. It was a nice day...

  • Growing green

    Growing green

A picture from when I still had the time to crawl around on all fours on the meadow with my camera. I find that the f/1.8 50 mm lens gives quite a nice blurry background.

  • In the Middle of Green

    In the Middle of Green

This is actually the first photo I decided to print on canvas. I went with my wife to the neighboring town. While she attended a (rather boring?) meeting of some kind, me and my son went for a walk in the late spring sun. (I was doing most of the walking since he was in the stroller.) Close to a playground I found this aspen tree with low branches and lovely colored leaves.

  • Sunset on the lake

    Sunset on the lake

We were out on a boat trip with our friends. Time flew by and suddenly it was already evening. We didn't mind though. Not when we could enjoy this wonderful sunset.

  • Remember the fallen

    Remember the fallen

When autumn comes, you start looking up towards the treetops enjoying the vibrant fall colors and the sometimes blue autumn sky. As time passes and darkness comes, your gaze drops to the ground and you remember the fallen.

  • Tree meets sunlight

    Tree meets sunlight

"The best camera is the one you carry with you." This sunlit autumn tree was captured with my old iPhone 4 a few years ago. I kinda like the contrast between the orange leaves and the blue sky.

  • Autumn by the river

    Autumn by the river

In October when some of the trees have started to shift colors and some still struggle to remain green, this view can be seen by the river. I find it quite restful to snap a few photos and enjoy watching the leaves sailing past in the water.

  • After the rain

    After the rain

I have no recollection of where I took this photo and I have no idea what flower it is. I think it's a rather pretty flower though and the raindrops add some extra spice to it.

    Macro Flower

I experimented with my macro lens and took flower pictures all over our garden. I found this flower in a pot on the porch though. I like the shallow depth of field that this lens (Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L) can give you. I think the colors were rather nice too.

  • Kissamos sunset

    Kissamos sunset

This is my favorite village in Greece. Kissamos. I've been here a few times, but not many enough. It's been a few years since my last visit, so I think I need to plan a trip soon again. I so like walking along the waterfront, enjoying the warm evening breeze and watching the sun go down behind those mountains.

  • Morning Dew

    Morning Dew

It was a fresh autumn morning and time for some mushroom hunting. Well... at least my wife and son went looking for the gold of the forest. And me? I spent the morning crawling around in the wet grass with my camera.

    Standing Tall

I'm not much of a mushroom picker. Instead I tend to lie flat on the forest floor trying to zoom in on the little fellows.

  • Blue morning

    Blue morning

It was the beginning of a long work day. I arrived a bit early and took a stroll down to the lake. The day turned out to be quite hectic and intense, but what a morning it was. It helped me through the day.

  • Through the clouds

    Through the clouds

We were out on a little family outing this quite cloudy spring day. Beyond the fields we could see the sunshine coming through the clouds just above the church. A coincidence? Who knows..?
